For churches everywhere, this is one of the most exciting times of year in the entire calendar.<\/p>\n

The fall ministry launch is about to begin.<\/p>\n

Amidst the excitement and the last-minute scrambling, I want to urge you to take a few minutes, catch your breath, and consider these 10 questions I believe every church leader should be asking this fall.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> In human terms, are we doing anything different that will produce different results than last year?<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> Is our preaching series designed to feed the growing cry for biblical teaching, or are we clinging to the fading topical approach?<\/p>\n

3.<\/strong> Is our church\u2019s community impact growing or diminishing?<\/p>\n

4.<\/strong> Is the staff genuinely fired up for the season?<\/p>\n

5.<\/strong> Can our board articulate our present direction with clarity?<\/p>\n

6.<\/strong> Do our volunteers understand their contribution to the \u201cbig picture\u201d, or are they merely doing an unpaid job?<\/p>\n

7.<\/strong> Is our church culture growing increasingly generous?<\/p>\n

8.<\/strong> Is authentic, biblical community increasing among our congregation?<\/p>\n

9.<\/strong> Is our church\u2019s heart for those who don\u2019t yet know Christ increasing?<\/p>\n

10.<\/strong> Is ministry causing my love for God to grow or diminish?<\/p>\n

Even as you wrestle with these questions, my prayer for you will be that you will \u201c<\/sup><\/strong>Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord,\u00a0because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.\u201d<\/p>\n
