{"id":3766,"date":"2014-04-08T22:05:05","date_gmt":"2014-04-09T03:05:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.scottcochrane.com\/?p=3766"},"modified":"2014-04-09T10:13:11","modified_gmt":"2014-04-09T15:13:11","slug":"the-secret-sauce-of-a-dynamic-growth-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scottcochrane.com\/index.php\/2014\/04\/08\/the-secret-sauce-of-a-dynamic-growth-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"The \u201cSecret Sauce\u201d of a Dynamic Growth Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Growth is not a \u201cgiven\u201d in organizational life.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>For significant growth to take place there are several factors that must come together to form a sort of \u201csecret sauce\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>These include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A compelling, God-breathed vision<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>A unifying sense of purpose<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>A radical commitment to raising up new leaders<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For an example of this one need look no further than what has been unfolding in the church in Thailand.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottcochrane.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Anupart-22.jpg\" class=\"btn-image--openpopup figure aligncenter size-full wp-image-3780\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3780\" title=\"Anupart 2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.scottcochrane.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Anupart-22.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"409\" height=\"553\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scottcochrane.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Anupart-22.jpg 409w, https:\/\/scottcochrane.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Anupart-22-222x300.jpg 222w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 409px) 100vw, 409px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thailand is country of 65 million people, 94% of whom are Buddhist, with 5% Muslim and less than 1% Christian.<\/p>\n<p>But that Christian population is on the move, growing from just 100,000 Christians 30 years ago, to more than 400,000 today.<\/p>\n<p>Recently I met with one of the pillars of this growth movement, Pastor Anuparp Wichitnantana of Bangkok Liberty Baptist Church, who unpacked how the secret sauce had sparked the remarkable growth of Christianity in Thailand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A compelling, God-breathed vision<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt began with a goal, which is to see 1 million Christians by 2015,\u201d Anuparp explained. \u201cAnd after that our next goal is to see, by 2030, 10% of Thailand be Christian. That would be about 7 million Christians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s a compelling vision, and it has galvanized the Christians in this beautiful country to do whatever it takes to get there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A unifying sense of purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the last 30 years there has been a movement of great unity in the churches and among denominations,\u201d Anuparp said. \u201cChristians have been coming together for prayer and all moving in the same direction in order to see Thailand transformed and changed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>A radical commitment to raising up new leaders<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The final critical ingredient? A plan for leadership development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Global Leadership Summit has played a very vital role.\u201d Anuparp emphasized. \u201cIt is helping people to see a bigger vision and how to strategize.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Today there are 3 GLS sites in Thailand, with plans to add more and more locations.<\/p>\n<p>If growth has stalled in your organization, check to see how you\u2019re doing with these secret sauce ingredients.
